These lesser-known songs have now become some of my favorites because the lyrics feel so honest and fresh. He has introduced me to all the bonus and unreleased songs that are truly hidden gems. Taylor Swift has always been my guilty pleasure but I didn’t start to appreciate her until I became best friends with someone who has a deep love for Taylor. I mean that literally - the day I got my license, I blasted Taylor Swift’s new album, Red, so loudly in my car that I famously rear-ended a Bentley. It's easy to get dangerously lost in Taylor Swift's music. Her songs are so catchy and I can’t help but sing along to Taylor Swift lyrics at the top of my lungs. Taylor Swift has had an amazing career and is incredibly talented. Since discovering this, Taylor Swift has spoken out about how musicians should fight for their right to own their work. This means that Taylor has no control over any of her past music and will not get paid for it when it is used. For example, if a television show wants to use one of Taylor Swift’s old songs, they have to first get permission from Braun - and pay him a fee to use it. Now Scooter Braun owns all of Taylor Swift's masters, so he is the sole person who gets to decide how her music is distributed. She soon realized that she wanted to own her work and spent years trying to buy back her old master recordings from Big Machine founder Scott Borchetta, but he wouldn’t allow it. The music industry doesn't always seem fair to its performers, though - when Taylor Swift signed her initial record deal at 15, she gave the company ownership of her work. Throughout her career, Swift claims she was bullied by Braun, saying that he encourage his clients to post rude comments about her on social media. Big Machine was acquired by music manager Scooter Braun and he has worked closely with Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and Kanye West. However, her parting with them did not go smoothly. hey don’t know if anyone still is active who followed this blog, but I wanted to share a photo of myself that made me feel good.
Reputation was also her last album under her deal with Big Machine Records.
